Playwright & Executive Director
While teaching high school on the coast of Maine, Plourde received a National Endowment for the Humanities grant to study playwriting and directing at Middlebury College’s Bread Loaf School of English. Following, she began using theatre as activism and education writing plays for girls conferences and working with various groups around the state helping them to create their own performance pieces. Plourde has been involved with the Maine Alliance for Arts Education, The Maine Women’s Fund, and Mainely Girls. The Knox County Coalition Against Tobacco have commissioned her plays. Plourde has held workshops for Where the Girls Are/Portland YWCA, Partnership for a Tobacco Free Maine, Pine Tree Folk School, Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence, Maine Youth Center, Acadia Hospital, Maine Alliance for Arts Education, Central Aroostook Council on Education, and the Kennedy Center’s American College Theatre Festival. Plourde is a member of the Association of Theatre in Higher Education (Theatre and Social Change), The Dramatists Guild of America, and Adjunct Artist in Residence at the University of Southern Maine. Plourde holds an MA in Theatre and Social Change (Vermont College) and a BS in Communication Education (Indiana University of Pennsylvania).
RYAN BASS
Booking Agent
Originally from Maine, Ryan now calls Boulder, Colorado her home. Ryan wears many hats for Add Verb, including former member of Add Verb’s Board of Directors; actress for The Thin Line; and booking agent. As Add Verb’s booking agent, Ryan assists schools and communities prepare for, and execute, a performance. Ryan holds a B.A. in English from Colorado College.
Actor, You the Man
Brian had the delightful pleasure of training with The Second City in NY and Chicago as well as the Improv Asylum in Boston. Stage work in New England includes shows with Seacoast Repertory Theater, The Barnstormers Theater, The Opera House at Boothbay Harbor, The Fenix Theater, M&D Productions, The Good Theater, Harbor Light Stage, NH Theater Project, and others. When not on stage Brian can be seen on film, TV commercials ranging from Visa to local jewelry stores, and also online or in magazines for companies like LL.Bean, Rubik’s Cube, Thule, Reebok and more. He currently calls Portland Maine home with his dog and beautiful wife Amy.
Actor, The Thin Line
Emily is a native Midwesterner from Illinois and a graduate of Beloit College’s Theatre Arts program. She studied at the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, Ireland and currently calls Portland, Me., home. Past performances include Agnes in Dancing at Lughnasa, Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire, and Rahmi in Gum.
PATEN HUGHES
Actor, The Thin Line
Lauran Paten Hughes is a New York-based actress originally from Richmond, Virginia. Favorite past roles include: Evelyn in Neil LaBute’s The Shape of Things, Actress #1 and #2 in the European premiere of LaBute’s Liars Club—part of an Edinburgh Fringe Festival double-bill entitled Tits and Blood, Claire in Paula Vogel’s The Long Christmas Ride Home, and Desdemona in Othello. She has also performed in several French-speaking productions of Ionesco, Arrabel, and others.
AMANDA HUOTARI
Actor, The Thin Line
Amanda Huotari is a performing artist and educator living in Buckfield, Maine. She holds a BFA in Acting from Emerson College and is a graduate of the International School of Comic Acting in Reggio Emilia, Italy and the Jacques Lecoq International Theatre School in Paris. She serves as an artist in residence with Maine Alliance of Arts in Education, and regularly performs at the Oddfellow Theater. She is the Executive Director of Celebration Barn Theater in South Paris, ME.
ABIGAIL KILLEEN
Actor, Major Medical Breakthrough
Abbie’s regional credits include six seasons with Connecticut Free Shakespeare, Hudson Stage, Boston Playwright’s Theatre, the Arden in Philadelphia, and the Westport Country Playhouse in Connecticut. Additionally she has toured for four seasons with the National Theatre for the Performing Arts. Film and television credits include: Deception; Showers of Happiness; Law and Order SVU; and Law and Order Criminal Intent. Abbie holds a BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and an MFA from Brandeis University. Currently she teaches acting in the Department of Theater and Dance at Bowdoin College.
LLOYD WATTS
Actor, You the Man
A 2006 graduate of the Actors Studio Drama School, Lloyd Watts hails from New Orleans. Works include a performance in the Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park production of Mother Courage alongside Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline; the 2010 HBO documentary Looking for Lenny starring Roseanne, Paul Mooney, Jon Lovitz and Lewis Black; the lead role in the independent film The Human Web; and as Jerome Cherry in HBO’s critically acclaimed new drama series “Treme” from the writers of “The Wire.”

Sally is an actor, director, and fight director. She has spent many summers with the Theatre at Monmouth and across the country, but now makes Portland her home. MFA/University of Tennessee, has trained in New York, Russia, Germany, England, and Italy.
