Funding Sources and Ideas
Add Verb Productions understands that the economy has hit education funding particularly hard. But with a growing urgency to address such issues as eating disorders and dating violence with our young people, we know our programming is needed now more than ever. Below are funding ideas that schools and communities can explore to underwrite a program. We are happy to discuss funding ideas – please feel free to contact us at 207-772-1167 or via email at chall4@une.edu.
Find a Sponsor
Many schools and communities have found funding through local businesses, parent groups, and other fundraising activities. Here are some tips for finding a corporate or nonprofit partner who may be interested in sponsoring a program:
- Inquire within your local PTA or student association to identify a list of organizations/companies that may be interested in sponsoring your performance. Make sure those on the list share your community-building goals.
- Prepare a letter of inquiry. Discuss the need for the educational program (why dating violence needs to be addressed); make the case for how it might impact the community; outline the benefits for the sponsor; and make the financial ask.
- Once you have your sponsor(s) lined up, prepare your promotional plan with your sponsor(s) in mind. This includes sending out a press release with their name/logo; printing off posters and programs that include sponsor name/logo; and taking the time to thank and acknowledge the sponsor(s) generosity before and after the play.
